sunrise over the tulum ruins

sunrise over the tulum ruins

arrived in tulum, a very nice beach town, with ruins, beautiful beach, and very importantly, a distinct lack of those obviously obnoxious type tourists. this morning we went to the tulum ruins hoping for a sunrise picture over the ruins, but alas, they weren't open till 8am (don't listen to rough guides or lonely planet on this one, the hours are definitely 8am -5pm).still, i managed to get this picture of the sun coming up behind el castillo. the picture was taken from behind a blocked entry point, and was part of an attempted hdr, too many moving trees and misalignment though, so i settled with working the under exposed picture. the colour in the hdr looked really good, but there were just too many glitches, maybe a tripod would've been more useful, but they are a pain as well. so instead of waiting for an hour for the site to open, we wandered down the path looking for the beach to kill some time.
