neotropic cormorant

neotropic cormorant

sitting in a tree on bird island, in the middle of the lagoon near cesiak headquarters, this i believe, is a juvenile cormorant (the name which took me until last week to find). i'm not sure how many birds there were on this little island, but pretty much every kind came here to roost. pelicans, frigates, ibises, cormorants (obviously), herons, a heap others probably that i've forgotten, though i didn't see any ospreys here (i don't think they'd be too welcome here, and plus they're probably more like loners).
