well, the transfer went through last night, relatively smoothly, and hopefully everyone is seeing my site on the new server now. there are probably still a few glitches that i need to sort out, but it's probably safe and not such a big issue to write off december 2007 for the site (in terms of stats). unfortunately, something i noticed this morning, i've had to turn off open comments, as i got spammed (despite the captcha) on one of my blog posts; that never happened on the old server. i thought the captcha was working, maybe it was something else.
anyways, i'll hang on to the old server for another couple of weeks to make sure that i haven't missed anything before closing that account. dreamhost is a bit up and down, but that's fine, i probably won't notice it most of the time, there's certainly nothing mission critical running here, so it's not a big deal.
