i thought the package was going to arrive on monday (it was in sydney on sunday), but some issue stopped it from being shipped then. it was shipped yesterday, and got to me this afternoon. i didn't have any batteries on me, so i couldn't test it out at work, but i had a quick play as soon as i got home. the light is bright (especially when it is pointed towards your eyes from not very far away
), the amount of functions are a little overwhelming at the moment, but there is a manual, so hopefully i'll work it out. the camera feels a lot heavier when it is attached, but i'm sure i can handle it.
no more lens hood getting in the way of my (flash) pictures anymore, macro bugs, here i come
. i'm not sure about the swivel though, it seems to move without having to push the button in (i really don't want to send it back). other than that, it seemed to work quite well on the couple of sample shots i took, high shutter speed (in a darkish room), good reproduction of colour, without having to do too much. i'll put it through it's paces a bit more over the next few days and weeks, and hopefully i'll get to know it better.
as for the filters, they look kinda cool, all dark and stuff, i did a quick test, holding the filter in front of a lens, and it went from f/8 to f/4.5 (missing a third of a stop!!), i don't think that was very scientific though
. once again, i'll have a good play with them on the weekend, when i can get outside in the bright sunshine. that's all for now, it would've been good to post a picture taken with the flash, but i'm not prepared to do that just yet
