i couldn't help myself :)

i couldn't help myself smiley

i was looking at the price for pentax flashes on ebay, and noticed that they had put their prices down into the $350 (aud) dollar range. this really got me going (till i remembered shipping was pretty expensive from those guys), then i thought (cos i already had some nd filters ordered from adorama in the us), and us prices are so good already, it'd prolly be cheaper to get the flash there and combine the shipping. of course that was how it turned out, and now i have some nd filters and a new flash coming my way soon smiley.

i was originally going to wait till next year, but i thought, i need to complete my kit now, so now, i pretty much don't need to get anything else. i'm pretty happy with my lenses, covering 16-200mm with two primes and two zooms, and a flash to finish off. i have a couple lenses still on my wishlist smiley, but they are primes in the range of my 16-45, so not absolutely necessary at the moment.

anyways, back to the flash, i got the af540fgz, which is the top of the range model for pentax (there are only three smiley), with bounce, swivel, zoom, all that jazz. the price difference to australia is ridiculous, basically i can get the same flash for half the price from hong kong, or america, why would i bother getting it locally?

just to finish off, the nd filters i'm getting a two stop hoya hmc filters, so i should be able to get better pictures in harsh light, and also longer expisures in fading light sooner smiley. more on both when they arrive (no idea when, i'll post a note when they update the shipping status).

lol, i don't think so, i gotta find out if it can be triggered by the onboard flash (i don't think so), but still, i'm a bit sick of having to turn the iso right up just to get 1/20 shutter speed indoors at night. hopefully, that's the end of my shopping spree, and i can concentrate on taking photos smiley
