new zealand 2007: day eleven - queenstown to melbourne

7th-sep-2007 - posted by dtra

our last day of any sort in queenstown and new zealand, our flight was at 12.55pm local time. so we basically had the morning to get packed and ready to go, and that was it, we probably should've got up a little earlier, so that we could take some last minute pictures, but anyway. i had a big breakfast, making sure i got as much as i could smiley, full to brim, i was ready to go. we packed our bags, and made sure everything was accounted for before leaving.

we got to the airport with no hassles, and checked it in, the car was kinda dirty, but there were dirtier cars on the lot than ours. hopefully alf doesn't get hit with any late bills (he hasn't yet, so all should be good) for car damage or anything smiley. had a quick look around the small airport, got myself a picture book of queenstown and surrounding areas as a souvenir, and went through customs.

of course i couldn't leave the country without at least one more bit of stupidity. when i put my stuff (ie. bag, laptop, etc) down to go through customs, i put my passport down too. after clearing cutoms, the lady was calling me, and lo and behold, i left my passport behind. got that back, and then we waited for boarding. i got the window seat this time, and took some pictures as we left, nothing great, as always, but some stuff that you don't see everyday.

we got back to melbourne at about 2.30pm local time, after clearing customs, and headed home, to go through the long list of photos, and all of this post-holiday stuff smiley.

that's it, i had a good time, probably the only bad thing was doing snow boarding for four consecutive days, that ruined it for me, wore me out. not that i think that i would be particularly fond of it anyway, it's a bit too cold for me, i prefer the sun and heat.

driving the manual was an adventure everyday, we pretty much did something stupid or funny every time we drove, and i probably should've taken more video on my fuji of the driving.

learnt a bit more about my camera, and how to use it, hopefully i'll be better for it, and i can take some better photos the next time i take a holiday or have a (proper) photo taking opportunity.

that's it, dtraCorp will be resuming normal activities from now on, minus the basketball logs, but i'm sure i'll have some other stuff to post. i'll be posting a site update this weekend, which i am pretty excited about, albeit a couple weeks late.
