last round of the regular season, and we were pretty much assured of a finals spot, coming up against the top team. a win would guarantee us second, while a lost could (theoretically) drop us to fourth. they beat us last time, while we beat them first time around. they're a tough team, got a good amount of height, and pass the ball well, and they're rough too. after trailing at the break 9-13, we made a good second half run to win 32-24, helped by some indiscipline on their side, two tech fouls, and one ejection.
they pretty much owned the inside, grabbing offensive boards at will, and getting backdoor cuts. we tightened it up late though, and prevented them from getting those easy close to the basket shots much better. there was a fair amount of pulling and grabbing (as usual) from these guys, but the refs we got this week, were awake to it, and called the fouls. basically, when the refs call the fouls on these guys, we should be able to beat them, we're quicker than them, and have that bit of flair, although they are a good passing team (and pretty good shooting).
i scored 13 points (11 in the second half), and was 5/9 from the line, taking me to 187 points, and 39/67 for the season. we finish the regular season in second (and most likely to play gus & frank) at 13-7 with a couple of byes. also, just a quick note, i won't be posting weekly mighty boys updates after this season, i think i'll probably just do a season review, with maybe a mid-season review thrown in. just getting to be a bit of an hassle.
