new zealand 2007: day nine - queenstown

we didn't have anything really planned for this day, other than trading in one of our lift passes and booking bungy. with that in mind, we only just got up in time for breakfast, well, with about half an hour to spare, but we had to clean ourselves up and stuff. after breakfast, we wandered down to the tour agency, and traded our lift pass in for a jetboat ride through the shotover canyon, i think it's the shortest and cheapest one smiley. we got one for the same day, and booked bungy for the next day, so with a bit of time to spare, i decided to head down to the pier and take some photos of one of the other jetboats operating in the area, the kawarau jetboat, amongst other things down there.

the shotover jetboat was pretty fun, but the ride was too short, only about twenty minutes or so. the 360's and the narrow lanes of the shotover canyon are pretty cool, it would've been good to take some video, but i didn't want to get my camera wet, there was a lot of splashing. with nothing to do, we might've gone back with our slr's and taken some good pictures, oh well.

after that, it was time for lunch, we just stopped in at caff naff, and had some sandwiches. alf asked for a chocolate milkshake, but got a strawberry one. he said it was too filling, and also didn't like it smiley.

well, anyway, that's what you get for having a milkshake (smiley). we finally got a ride up the gondola and up to the skyline complex to take some big view pictures of queenstown at night. we got some nice pics (which i've since noticed have some dust in them smiley), but it was worth it.

for dinner, we went to speights ale house, a typical pub, i got the lamb shanks, alf had the fish and chips. i had the speights pilseners (i like pilseners smiley), while alf had the speights pale ale, we also had garlic bread.

leading us to our final full day, nothing really planned apart from the big bungy. so that's what's up tomorrow...
