site update

24th-jul-2007 - posted by dtra

time for another site update, a few technical notes, plus one important, and possibly earth shattering change smiley. zend framework 1.0 was released a few weeks back, and i have, of course, upgraded to it, and everything seems to be running quite well at the moment. just one fix i'd still like to make, is make the site load a server error page if there is a db issue or something (which i had a week ago for no apparent reason). i've also added a javascript and css caching script borrowed from this site to make my site load faster, not really noticeable outside of the cms, but it's good for me smiley.

the only other real important change of note, is that comments are now open to the public. i've implemented the change using the pear captcha numeral class (only for non-registered users), so hopefully programmers haven't worked out how to make bots work that out yet. if i start getting spammed though, i'm gonna have to revert to the old registered users only system. that is all, dtra welcomes any comments now smiley.

notes

well, i've added that server error page if there is something that has broken on the server, and also an easy way for me to turn off open comments.
