they only had four players last time, so it was an easy win for us, they had a couple more this week, so it was a lot tougher. we lacked energy and concentration in the first half as they tore away to a 14-23 lead, which would have been worse had henry not nailed a running thirty footer at the buzzer. we managed to keep pushing and ended up with a 29-29 draw (update, the official score had us losing 26-29), which we could've won, but i blew a layup just before time ran out. they must've tired in the second half, as we managed to hold them to just six points.
they dominated the boards, but that just meant that they weren't able to knock down their shots (lucky for us). i couldn't knock down any shots either, i must've been 4/15+ (lots of easy ones too), including the potential game winner. i know i didn't have any energy in the first half (too cold and was pretty lethargic all day at work), gordon said he was down as well, but he came up with a couple huge plays at the end of the game. bringing us to within one, tipping in a missed free throw from me, then stealing the ball, and getting fouled at the other end, and tying the score.
i made a couple big defensive plays, blocked the guy's shot with just under thirty seconds left, then partially blocked another shot, and got the ball, looking to push for the win. i was going too fast though, and my shot under pressure was long, and the game ended there. i could've been the hero, and once again, i failed...
anyways, scored nine points for 148 points on the season, and was 1/2 from the line, 28/48, it's not getting any better
. we're now 10-4, and now second on the ladder.
