the team with the tools, but not the commitment, it was going to be a tough game, cos they had a big size advantage. fortunately for us, they were missing a few players, and one of their big guys, so the plan was to push the ball. we lead 24-17 at the half, and eventually won 46-33, but they did make a couple runs at us. most notably late in the first half, when we were leading 22-10, they finished the half with a 2-7 run, and after we pulled away at the start of the second half to 35-23, they went on a 0-10 run to pull within 2. we called time, and when we came back out, we finished the game with an 11-0 run for the win.
it's good to play against a team that doesn't really push back on d, i managed to grab some boards and push the ball down the court, and we had several 2, 3, 4 on 1's for easy baskets. i did manage to fluff a few easy layups though, just not concentrating i guess. everyone played well though, wills and kang on d, and henry, andy, simon, gordon, and fred (in his return and finale game
) all got in the act on offence and on the break. i made a couple of clumsy turnovers and handling errors, i was probably over-excited about the chance to play with some freedom (in terms of not much physicality).
i scored 16 points, and was 2/4 from the line (
), for 139 points, and 27/46 from the line, for the season totals. we're now 10-3, and should maintain second on the ladder for this week.
