late-ish malaysia holiday post

i'll do a full wrap up next week when i get back, but for now, just a few quick notes with a couple of pictures to whet your appetite. started in kuala lumpur before heading up the west coast to penang to meet alf and ozzy. we moved on to langkawi for some beach time then, and got to ride a jet ski that went pretty fast, that was fun. went diving at pulau payar, it's only been about six months and i already forgot so many things, like spit cleaning the goggles, how to maintain my buoyancy, etc, etc. anyway, after a couple days there, we went back to kl for nye, and then came across to borneo (sabah), and that's where i am still, in kota kinabalu.
we managed to reach the summit of mount kinabalu (i finally made a mountain top), went to a small island just off the coast (not survivor island), went to sandakan yesterday where we saw the orangutans at sepilok, and also the proboscis monkeys at kabuk bay. i'll leave it at that for now, cos i don't really feel like elaborating too much, not much to do left, maybe the beach tomorrow, shopping in kl, and then home, i'll post much more next week as well as some cool pictures.
the news picture is of the summit of mount kinabalu (covered in cloud), taken from near the rest spot at laban rata.
