after a year of dealing with the piece of shit hp bluetooth mouse, i finally went and spent a bit (not a ridiculous amount, but it was the most expensive mouse i ever bought by far) and got me a real mouse. it's a logitech m555b, and it connected up straight away, and let's hope it doesn't have any of the connectivity issues that stupid hp one had. it even has that horizontal scrolling on the wheel (seems to have been a feature for a while), but it's the first i've ever seen of it, very useful when you're scrolling around the finder. unfortunately the logitech software didn't detect it properly, so i can't program the application button, but that's all right, the bluetooth connectivity and horizontal scrolling should be more than worth it. hopefully my last mouse for a while, i was going to get the magic mouse, but ordered and had it in for a few days and nothing happened, so i guess they don't have any stock or something. the middle click works differently to old mouses, it changes the wheel scroll type, i should get used to that, and use the app button for middle click.

awesome i downloaded the latest software for the mouse, and now i can have custom controls for the application click button for specific applications, would've been good if there could be multiple gestures or something, oh well.
