with a four game winning streak going into this week (including the bye 
), we were within touching distance of fourth (and last place in the finals). so we definitely wanted to keep the winning streak going and keep the pressure on spartans (who had a bye). last time we played these guys we beat them by eleven points, so we had confidence that we could do it again (they were also on the bottom of the ladder). with dave out for a few weeks (ankle ligament injury), we couldn't take the game lightly. we got off to a great start, leading 9-0 with about five minutes to play in the first half, and held a 15-4 lead at halftime. we went on to win 34-17, so it was a pretty routine win in the end, and very good for team morale, and confidence.
damo hammered the boards, and with simon, and henry, knocked down big jump shots. henry made a big 30 footer to beat the first half buzzer. we played really good defence and forced tough shot after tough shot, and punished them to some degree in transition. we remain in fifth spot, one point behind spartans, but the next three games we play, we lost in the corresponding fixtures earlier in the season, so it's going to be tough. we need to keep the momentum going though, and just push for that finals spot.
finally, i scored eleven points, and shot 3/5 from the line, to take my season tallies to 145 points, and 32/62 from the line.
