after two weeks of inaction on wednesday's, the winter season kicked off tonight, and i think a couple of the guys were a little rusty, judging by their shooting in warmups. it was a tight game for the first half, and the first half of the second half, but we were able to pull away over the last few minutes. tied at 14 at the half, with a scrappy start, we ended up taking the win 38-22. this was a new team in the competition, so we didn't know what to expect, they had some good size about them, fortunately for us, they weren't overly physical like some of the other teams (these guys were probably less experienced). we struggled to score and find a rhythm at the start, trailing something like 4-10, but gradually started to increase the tempo, and got some easyfast break layups.
everyone played pretty well in the end, defensively, we were solid, kang and henry will probably rue some missed layups (me too), but it was a pretty good first game of the season, and a much better start to this season than last. hopefully this doesn't mean that we get promoted to division two, and get smashed for the whole season. i think this is a good division for us.
to me, i had a pretty good game, would've like to have made a few more of the inside layups i took. but i can't complain too much when i shoot 6/6 from the line (including a couple of three point plays), that's right
!! i was able to really push the fast break a few times, with real open court, which was a nice change. ended up scoring 16 (i think), so a good start for me and the team.
