in a do or die contest to finish the regular season, it was the winner of this contest (or in the event of a draw, us) that would go through to play finals next week. i may have underestimated this team a bit, after the shellacking we gave them last time, but i don't think i underestimated them by that much, as they managed to beat us 33-37. i think a lot of it had to do with the referees (two old blind mice), but also, we really didn't play well, aside from probably dave c and simon. i played possibly my worst game of thes season (not helped by the fact that i picked up two/three fouls in the first half, total bs

it was tight the whole way, i think we lead 17-16 at the half, but weren't able to maintain it in the second half. falling behind by five. we got it back to two, but couldn't get any closer than that. i just choked, didn't have my legs with me, and was struggling to get up and down the court. i really think the fouls i got called for (in the first half) set the tone for the game (for me at least, but a few others as well), i couldn't get into a rhythm, pushing the ball, and even threw up an air ball late in the game (on a regulation runner for me). i'm not gonna harp on how bad the refs were (mystery calls and non-calls), one ref had glasses on, the other definitely needed them. i just don't think we could be as aggressive, defensively (i definitely wasn't) as we could've been, which really hurt, cos they only had one decent ballhandler.
anyways, in a terrible finish to the season, (our comeback run ends here) i added five points (183 total), and 1/3 from the line , 40/78 (back to the dark old days 
). we'll all have a two week break before the next season (and grading starts), and just have to stew for a while.

Well that sucks. Hopefully you losing is a sign that I am going to win on tennis on Saturday.

i don't follow, but at least you get to make your own calls, rather than relying on two old should-be retirees. to be perfectly honest, i don't see you guys winning on saturday either
