after some thought, i've made notes/comments open to anyone again, but with a catch. after being spammed last time i allowed anonymous comments, i've re-implemented the comments system but with a review process before any go live. i didn't bother to put in an alert system, so when they are reviewed is when i feel like it. it's a bit against the ideal, but i'm not taking any chances this time, that text_numeral_captcha wasn't all that effective. personal blogs my butt, i probably don't even need it there anymore, but i'll leave it as a security blanket.
the other thing that i've done, which is more photography related rather than site, but since i can't post to multiple categories (should i fix?) is i can now get full exif metadata back, thanks to a little app called exiftool, because rawtherapee doesn't preserve all the exif, i can use exiftool to copy the original exif from the dng, and paste it into the converted jpeg. pretty sweet, that's all for now, but everyone's talking...
it was pretty much a full moon tonight, and since i don't like posting news without pictures, i thought i'd chuck a full moon pic on, it's real dark, and noisy, but there were too many clouds, so i couldn't use a real high shutter speed.
my moon pic has been updated with a better exposed picture from tonight, clear skies can do wonders.

updated the rss feeds a bit, they now contain full html in the cdata sections, as well as the full details, no longer just partial descriptions.

fixed the comments numbering for rss (i think), and also the search index update (also, i hope).
