it's that time of year again, the start, and we all have our stupid resolutions that we will never stick to, etc, etc. we didn't really do too much last night, went over to ozzy's place without a plan (i thought the plan was to go to the espy), but alf and my lack of enthusiasm must have irked ozzy. so we just had a couple beers on his roof, and watched the crummy kids fireworks (which we were too far away for), and then watched an episode of the office (with some vodka), and then headed out to watch the main fireworks (sorry about the long sentence 
).
after watching the main fireworks in the almost stifling heat, we went for our (alf's) traditional annual punt at the casino. we got to the first entrance, and they were like ("we have a dress code now!!"
, no t-shirts!?!?! then we moved onto the next entrance, and it was sort of the same thing, but one of the security guards goes to ozzy, "you're all right, you got a collar", so we followed him in, then the second row of security guards is saying no, so we had to tell him the other guy said we were good; and another guard was "cool, just show us some id first", i gave him the old asian rule quip (+7 :, not sure if he got it D).
anyways, had a few drinks, alf settled in for some black jack (not pontoon), and played it a bit smarter this year. he got up early, so we told him to take the positive chips and hold them and not touch them, so that he had some kind of winnings at the end of the night. i did my part, by watching another table, as i seemed to be causing bad luck (i'm not superstitious but anyway). he ended up winning $65 bux i think, which is a lot better than last year.
and that's that, i got about 3-4 hours sleep, i can never sleep after a few drinks, i'll have a nap later i guess (and at work tomorrow ). anyways, some big plans in the works for this year (which alf has called a good one, because of his winnings), mexico in april, i think i'm gonna learn spanish (totally unrelated, just something i want to do), new stuff as always, and some other stuff that may or may not happen (so i won't mention it here). and hopefully, i won't move servers again, or have significant downtime on the site, the cost is low, and the feature set is pretty good.

I think I fell straight to sleep when I got home.. also didn't wake up until about 1pm.
I wanna learn some spanish too... are you gonna take some lessons before going away?

i got home, and was stumbling into stuff , but my head was spinning so i was sitting on the floor near my bed for a bit before sleeping (i don't remember much though).
yeah, i'm gonna do a spanish course at box hill tafe.
