merry xmas and i got my naneu pro alpha

i wasn't sure if it was going to arrive before christmas, it cleared customs on saturday night, and i got it this morning at work. lucky, cos i didn't want to rock up later this week just to pick it up, especially since i'm now on holidays!! anyways, just under two weeks for delivery, and at this busy time of year, i can be pretty happy i think. the backpack is a naneu pro alpha, has a customisable, removable, camera insert at the bottom for my digital slr (pentax k100d). i pretty much got it as a replacement for my lowepro computrekker, which has a laptop insert, and can store a large number of lenses.

the alpha is smaller, lighter, and more comfortable and versatile than the computrekker. it doesn't hold as many lenses, and the pockets aren't quite as good/usable for camera gear, but it does have the top compartment which i can actually put stuff into. it also has a tripod holder, mobile phone holder, and a little compass!! smiley. i've set up the camera insert to hold my camera (with 16-45 attached), 50-200, 100mm macro, and 50mm prime (top middle), as well as my 540 flash under the rocket blower, and hopefully, two more small primes (21mm and 35mm).

i had to ride home with my normal work backpack and the alpha on my back, which was a little uncomfortable (as it was hard to turn my head), but even that was probably no worse than riding with the computrekker on my back. i'll still keep the computrekker, but will be unlikely to use it much i would think. the only thing i was a little disappointed about was that they didn't have the camo version anymore. that one has the rain cover, oh well.

merry xmas from dtraCorp smiley.
