well, it's been a couple tough days, working out all this crap, but i've finally got the site/server back up, no archives though, though it would be too much hassle to bring back the news items that i actually had. i will try and recover the southeast asia stuff, and archive that in an html page somewhere though, and definitely re-post the galleries. but i'm just gonna have to start afresh with all new stuff, which will probably be exactly the same, but you get the idea. basically, something happened on my host's end that caused a whole bunch of the shared servers (vps) to die, and i don't know if they meant it or not, but the host company was saying that the data was not recoverable. so we just gotta get on with stuff, and move forward.
that was very bad news indeed, as i had been lazy and not backed anything up (from the server to offline) for a few months. so here i am, with nothing really left, i've still got my hopes and dreams, but unfortunately, all those souls that come to my site to read about the asus vw192t monitor will not be able to find out what i had to say. oh well, i'll just have to get some new stuff, and post news about that.
i'll make sure to actually do something about backups and archives this time, so that this kind of disaster doesn't affect me in such a major way if it does happen again. anyways, everything went pretty smoothly, in terms of server setup, and configuration, i guess i'm getting used to having to configure these stupid servers

it's getting late (for me), so i'm just going to leave it at that for now, and post some other stuff tomorrow. there will probably be a bunch of blank pages as the site wasn't really developed with an empty database in mind. so just bare with me, as i re-populate dtraCorp with the stuff that only dtra can produce.

yep, sucks ass bad, but we'll all just have to live with it, i will be making a new comments feed too, so that'll be up soon, as well as some of those archives and galleries.
